What is the name of the musical instrument that is a ball on a string with small cymbals on the sides?
I saw a musician in an afro-beat band use it to make chime sounds. He dangled it from its string and bobbed it up and down to make a chime sound. It's a hard ball wrapped in a net that has small tamborine cymbals attached to the net on the sides. The cymbals must bang against the hard ball at the same time to create the sound.
If its called an Aoki then it must have another name because nothing comes up when a search is done. More information is needed to confirm. The name sounds asian.
