Sony Vegas, is it worth it?
By is it worth it, I don't mean price (that's not an issue).
I want to make stuff like little music videos, mini-movies, etc. Plenty of stuff that involves special effects. A main project I've been working on lately with my friends needs a program that can edit in supernatural stuff; lightning, energy blasts, fake super speed, teleporting etc.
Can Sony Vegas do that kind of stuff, or is it built more for something else? I used a trial version a while back, but the learning curve is horrible. I had no idea what I was doing and how it worked, and the tutorial didn't help all that much, so as a result I didn't really get to explore the program's capabilities.
On top of this, is there another program out there that gets the job done better than Vegas, or should I just go get Vegas?
...and as I recall, when you download the trial, there is a link to the user manual in PDF form which cold ease the learning curve.
