i am a rather experienced rider and im looking for a first pony. what should i look for?
I am almost 16
i have been riding for about 6 years
i ride all the nutters at my local riding school
my cousin has a pony and i have rode him looooaads. i do have a fair bit of experience loaning and i work at one of my local riding schools.
i know im capable of owning a horse but im not too sure what to look for. most people say get a first pony but i think that if i get a first pony its just going to want to plod about and i would like to compete at local shows (jumping/cross country)
my mum has said that if i can earn the initial fee of the horse and tack then she is willing to pay for vet fees, livery fees i will just have to pay for the farrier and feed ect.
i do have a job and i know that i will be able to get enough money for my own pony.
im just not sure what too look for. i am going to speak to my instructor on sunday but in the mean while i would like to be looking at horses on the internet/in magasines ect.
any ideas would be brill 
I love horses too and from your descripition I think a Andulasian or Aploosa would be a good ride for you.
A full bred Arabian normally cost alot of money, so perhaps an Arabian cross.
I own a Andulasian who is a very talented jumper like many of its breed, dressage is something that the breed does well in too.
Cleverland Bays are also great for jumping!
