What gauge guitar strings to get?
I've been playing acoustic guitar for around 7 months.
I've been playing on 10 gauge phosphor bronze strings.
I'd like to move my thickness up, and buy 11 gauge or 12 80/20 Bronze strings made by D'addario.
Is 12 gauge too high? Is it hard when you get strings with a greater thickness? Should I move up to 11 gauge, or is 12 gauge still fine?
I play 12 gauge D'Addario phosphor bronze strings and have been for a long time -- hasn't been a problem. Sure, they're more difficult to bend, but I don't bend much while playing acoustic (I save that for when I have my Les Paul plugged in...) They also seem to last longer than the lighter gauge strings.
