What type of mallets should I consider buying?
I'm a senior in high school and I've been playing with 4 mallets since before my junior year began last June. I've been a mallet percussionist since the 6th grade. Since then I have improved my technique and is considering furthering my knowledge and skill in college. My question is about the type of mallets I should buy. I'm planning on being, primarily, a marimba soloist (but a percussionist, too), so I should buy 2 pairs specifically for that notion. On the other hand, I'm going to participate in percussion ensembles and marching/concert band and will need sticks and mallets for that purpose, as well.
What type of mallets should I buy as a soloist and as a percussionist? Innovative Percussion seem like a good choice considering the fact that I'm well above college level skill. Are there any other good choices to choose from? What are your opinions?

I recently bought a couple of pairs of various Kai Stensgaard Mallets from Pro-Mark...they're pretty sweet... =]

I got a 2 pairs of KS3's and KS5's. My pit/front ensemble tech says they're cool and I haven't had found anything that I didn't like about them although, I've only had them for a couple of weeks...=P But they work really well with the piece that I'm learning... =]
