Snare wire tightening problems?
Hi, today I went out and bought new drum heads (top and bottom) for my snare and new snare wires. I had no problem putting on and tuning the new heads, however I'm having some trouble tightening the snare wires. When I tighten them, and use the snare strainer, the snare wire slips out. Does anybody know what the problem is, and how I could fix it? If it's important, here are the specs of my snare.
Snare: 14" - 5"
Top head: Remo Weatherking Coated Ambassador
Bottom head: Remo Weatherking Hazy Ambassador
Snare Wires: dw TrueTone snare wires
Thanks in advance for the help everybody.
You should have a friend or another person assist you, as it could be tough tightening the snare wire while holding it down. Otherwise, make sure you aren't tightening them too much. I don't think the problem is your equipment, maybe just the way you are handling it.
