V-Drums question?
i wanna buy a Yamaha DTXPLORER V-Drums but i don't know if it worths it.i heard all the kits are single zone so i guess i'm outa ride bell and side stick.also i didn't like the sounds cause it wasn't so natural,but one of my friends said that i can connect it to the computer and use vst plugins like EZ Drummer and get some great sounds out of it.i wanted to buy Yamaha DTXPRESS IV but it's so expensive for me to buy.right now i'm confused so i'd be glad to hear your guides and advises.and if you can tell me what feauters am i missing or am i getting with that kit and tell me if it's suitable or not for connect it to pc for using drums vst plugins.thanks.
You may find you would be better off with a Roland V-Drums kit as they have much better standard kit sounds, particularly on the TD-6 which I've got.
You can also get them with mesh heads, or buy a basic kit and upgrade it over time as I have, they support at least two zones (three when you get to TD-12 and TD-20 level) and are fully customisable - including the presents via a free to download software application such as VDrumLib.
You can also obtain additional downloadable kits from V-Expressions if you want to use similar sounds and configurations to your favourite drummers.
I use that with a ESI MIDIMATE to manage my module and you can certainly get some good deals on the TD-6 kits now that the TD-9 has superseded it.
