I play the doumbek (a middle eastern drum) should i join my college marching band?
so my friends really want me to join band at my college and i used played the violin but i haven't played for a really long time and kinda forgot how to read music, but i do play the doumbeks. I have never been in a marching band before and not sure if i have time, but i think it will be fun. And it also will go down as an 'A' on my transcript if it do. Should i join band?
There are no violins or doumbeks in college marching band, so you'd have to learn a new instrument. Band can be a lot of fun, but it does consume a lot of time. Whether or not you join depends on if you're willing to put in the time. If you have friends in the band already, it should make things more fun for you.
