Which drumset to get? Gretsch vs Pearl!?
Hi I'm planning on purchasing my first drumset but I need some advice. What is a good drumset for 400-800ish? I would like to buy a shell pack for around 400, and use 300ish for cymbals and stands.
So far, I found the Gretsch Catalinas Ash ($650), Gretsch Blackhawk ($430, with stands), Pearl Visions for around $500. I was told to buy Pearls by most people, but many people online say that Gretsch is pretty good too.
Don't buy based on what you hear from people buy based on what you hear when you try out a kit.What happens when u get the set home and u hate it? Go in the store and ask to try out different sets.Then shop around for best prices.Look at ebay,craigslist,sam ash or guitar center.The money you save on a kit can help you buy extra drum heads or sticks or a good bass drum pedal.
