Celestial Souls Electronic Ambient Music: Early Reflections
ELECTRO AMBIENT Music from Scotland's CELESTIAL SOULS
Early Reflections, the newest project by Electro Ambient Artist Celestial Souls contains 5 hypnotic Ambient tracks, often compared to Mogwai and early New Order is now available.
Celestial Souls is a series of ambient audio experiments which developed through blending together live musical instruments with progressive electronic music in several distinctive styles and genres generating distinctive and multi-dimensional soundscapes that use music as thoughts to construct moods, experiences and visuals. Celestial Souls are two brothers from East Kilbride in Scotland. They have both written and played songs for more than 10 years now and draw ideas out of a great many musicians which ranges from old blues singers to modern day electro pioneers. Starting out as self taught guitarists they have since enhanced their musical capabilities playing piano, percussion/drums and bass, incorporating and adopting an ever growing wave of digital and processed effects to establish a great new dimension to the sound and in essence an entirely new tool by which to draw inspiration. Their brand new CD is a taste of the band's earlier workings and features a good mix of what they're about. With tracks such as the instrumental relaxing Arcadia to the more psychedelic frantic bongo-driven On The Run, the tracks capture an assortment of emotions from the kind of music that makes you want to sit back and chill out on the seashore, to a grittier, menacing sound that's got the feel of a post-modern dimly lit/dystopian sci fi nightmare. Every song has a specific atmosphere and subject to your surroundings and circumstances, the songs will undoubtedly conjure up various meanings and feelings with the listener. The guys are currently composing and recording a new lp that they want to launch later on in the year but in the meantime this CD is sure to moisten the appetite for what’s to come. So chill out, unwind, stop thinking about the monotonous realities and trials and tribulations of daily life and lose yourself to the music of electro ambient duo Celestial Souls.
